Jennifer R. Finch, Attorney & Founder

Jennifer R. Finch is the founder of Finch Legacy Law, where she helps Texas families, create thoughtful legal plans for the people, businesses, and futures they care about most.

For more than a decade, Jennifer has focused her practice on estate planning, trust planning, and special needs planning, helping clients make decisions that feel both legally sound and personally meaningful. She is known for translating complex legal concepts into clear, practical guidance, so clients understand not only what their plan says, but why it matters.  Much of Jennifer’s approach was shaped by the privilege of learning from and working alongside an exceptional attorney-mentor for most of her career. That experience instilled in her a deep respect for careful drafting, client education, long-term relationships, and the responsibility attorneys carry when families trust them with deeply personal planning decisions.

In addition to traditional estate planning, Jennifer works with families navigating disability-related planning, including supplemental needs trusts, public benefit preservation, guardianship considerations, and long-term support structures. Over time, she has also developed a growing passion for working with business owners — first through the relationships she built with entrepreneurial clients, and now through the perspective of becoming a business owner herself. Her business-related work focuses on helping owners be thoughtful about formation, continuity, ownership transitions, and succession planning in a way that supports both the enterprise and the people behind it.

After spending her entire legal career in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Jennifer and her family made the move to Austin in the Spring of 2026 to finally be closer to family and put down roots in the community they have long loved. She and her husband, Mark, are the proud parents of three sons and a daughter.  Their oldest son is now officially a fourth-generation Longhorn beginning his freshman year at The University of Texas at Austin this fall and carrying on a legacy of military service through the University’s ROTC program.
